EPC

An Energy Performance Certificate, otherwise known as an EPC, provides an energy rating for a home and is required on all properties that are marketed for sale or to let.

The EPC outlines some ideas which would help to improve the building’s energy performance. Implementing these can lead to lower energy bills, reduced carbon deposits and can make homes more attractive to potential buyers or tenants. EPCs are produced following an energy assessment undertaken by a qualified assessor, known as a Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA), who is accredited by an accreditation body licensed by the Government.

An EPC for residential properties is valid for 10 years. The EPC will stay with the property for the 10 year period no matter how many times it is sold or let, it is simply passed from one owner to the next.

If you are thinking of selling or renting your property, we will need to see the EPC before the property is marketed. Don’t worry if you haven’t got one though as we can help arrange this in a cost effective and speedy manner.
